Los Angeles Family Portrait Session SLIDESHOW! | Allan + Sandi, Jakob- (9 months)

Here’s the slideshow to Allan, Sandi, and Jakob’s family session! It was so awesome shooting their brand new family, and so fun to photograph their first addition to the family, little one year old Jakob. As you’ll see, he was SUCH a happy baby boy! The cleverest thing they brought to the shoot was a stuffed Frankenstein that was still new to him and sang and danced the whole entire shoot. It totally worked.. I’m on the hunt for a stuffed, singing monster now. But even without the Frankie, Jakob was so easy to shoot because he’s naturally a social baby. He was pretty much content, happy, and engaged the whole shoot! Throw in a smile-toy along with an already smiley baby… you get loads of happy baby and family pictures. I was hooked and can’t wait to do it again. ;) As always, I love seeing all the different myriads of expressions they throw at us when they’re merely even a year old. Enjoy this precious little slideshow:

Don’t be fooled, he crawls kind of fast:

Cute Boots and Autumn Leaves

Personal Cici’s Cafe, Tarzana

My good friends took me out last week for my belated birthday- Chie and Trudy, and Chie’s daughter Claire came along as she often does. After our delicious pancakes and crepes, we hung out for a while outside. I’ve always been bummed about the fact that I haven’t really taken photos yet of sweet Claire, and I freak out about her getting older too fast before I’d gotten the chance to capture her cute “todays”…that adorable face and cutest outfits from Japan she’d sport around. So when I saw the autumn leaves plus her adorable red boots, I was glad I lugged my real camera to breakfast this time. Thanks to my new Epiphanie bag, which looks like a purse and makes it possible for female photographers to bring an SLR along without big black ugly bag. I love this photo of my little friend Claire! Tell me, am I just biased? No right?

By the way, if you ever want a fantastic breakfast, Cici’s Cafe in Tarzana, has everything you could want and more. This place had an amazing menu! 2 whole pages full of 50 or so different pancake flavors, (including red velvet and green tea), a page full of crepes, and a mouthful of different types of Egg Benedicts… I could have had a whole cup of coffee or tea just reading the entire menu with my reading glasses fully on. I will be going back for sure, since Timon LOVES pancakes and I love me some crépes child-playing-in-leaves-2b If you’re wondering about that head of hair she’s holding onto, it was a sweet gift from our friend Trudy who went to brunch with us, and Claire loved it as you can tell. Too bad you can’t see the face of the doll in the photo…it was a TY doll with a really sweet-looking face that kind of matched Claire’s. I didn’t even know TY made dolls, i thought they only made little stuffed animals. It was really sweet..it also seemed to be the perfect size for hugging. :)

Long Beach Wedding and Lifestyle Photography | Light and Sal

Light and Sal had their wedding on a beautiful day in Long Beach, at the CSULB Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden. The garden allows you to hold your ceremony on a bridge! Can’t think of a more romantic spot to get married on. After the wedding, we headed over to a park that they frequent with their three doggies, one of which got to walk down the aisle. The day only got better and better as we hit our last stop, the Long Beach State baseball stadium: Blair Field, where he once played, and where he also proposed! He told us how the Long Beach State University’s baseball team got their nickname Dirtbags…how it refers to their gritty play and determination…how the LBSU team first started out with all new players without a home field. They’d practice at a local all-dirty pony field, covered in dirt, and win its first 18 games, advancing to their first College World Series appearance. The best part of the story is, Sal brought Light on their first date to this special place which he told her was his “Field of Dreams”… after Sal proposed to Light at a Long Beach State baseball game, he told her that she made one more dream come true at Blair Field.

This on my desk would keep me warm all winter long.

We were so excited to have the stadium all to ourselves!

I like this as an enlargement, hint + wink

Light was one of the most relaxed, kick-back brides I ever met. Everything was carefree. This was the one detail she did put her handprint on for her wedding day, and it was worth it:

His name is Cocoa. He is beloved. He presented the ring and got to strut the walk down the aisle.

A handsome look:

Sal’s natural happy face: (He had happiness written all over him all day.)

Sal said that he loves how Light is beautiful. Oh yea, and smart, funny, practical, and loves to cook. So awesome…I think I have one of those things: loves to cook. But here’s Light:
