San Gabriel Hilton Wedding| Mona and Phil | San Gabriel Wedding Photographer

San Gabriel Hilton has an elegant rooftop that just seems to transcend the city, almost like a secret garden hidden in an urban city, complete with a gazebo, perfectly placed flowers everywhere, and a cute water feature. It was a great fit for Mona and Phil and their April 2011 wedding. The bright sunlight and intense heat of the LA sun overhead beating down on us was overshadowed by the elegance and sophistication of their day, bound together by an ever-present passion that these two share. The day started at The Langham Hotel in Pasadena, as we captured the few quiet moments before Mona and Phil were brought together. White Blossom Events was a pleasure to work with. Their demeanor was calming, caring, and professional, and so helpful and we can not begin to summarize how much we loved them.

To start off, here are a few shots from the Hilton.

I just wanted to point out the Michael Jordan here. I just love the enthusiasm. :)
The men were no let down when it came their turn. This is our favorite garter catch reaction to date!Lastly, there are so many party pictures, but unfortunately there’s only enough space to embarrass a few people here.

Richard Nixon Library Wedding| Min and David | Yorba Linda Wedding Photographer

When we met Min, not only was she the sweetest, laid back, yet excited bride, but she also mentioned to us that she was designing her own wedding dress, something I’d never attempt in my wildest, imaginative dreams. In fact, when frequenting my chic sewing project books, (I like to daydream about what I might be able to make someday), I skip right over the clothing pages because I know that I could not create or much less design, something I had to wear. Thus, it was a give-away from the start that Min was not just cool but notches above cool.

David was also really sweet, when we met him for the first time, first thing in the morning…he was busy taking care of all the morning details, helping set up at the reception, and letting us know a million times over that he would take care of whatever we needed. He made us feel welcomed and right at home in their wedding.

I know Timon loved shooting this wedding as much as I’m loving blogging it!

Oops I got ahead of myself. ;) This is how this fairy tale begins…with a gorgeous one-of-a kind wedding dress (literally) and a stunning bride…

Her friend Yecca Zeng, from the Fashion Institute in Technology at NYC, helped her mold together some of her favorite things she had seen in other wedding dresses. Min gave her some pictures and ideas to go off of, and Yecca produced 25 drawings and narrowed them down to 5. Here’s what Min said:

“We sat together looking at the 5 drawings and then picked out what we liked from each of those and created the gown! Yecca made everything from scratch, and spent hours hand tacking the pleated details and all the draping. It really is a piece of artwork from her, and I plan on trying to preserve it and perhaps some day when she has her own showroom I can give it back as a memory!”

The anticipation of the first look was oozing from both Min and David. They were glowing with anticipation… so we arranged a rendezvous in an awesome field we found on the way over. Then, we stepped back and let the magic happen…

Completely noteworthy was the food, provided by the Richard Nixon Library. It was SO, so good. The meal was seriously as good tasting as it looks, and just look at it!

The tower of crunchy fine candy strings was over the top. How can I describe it? It was like cotton candy on steroids. We came home with a ziplock bag of it! I was honestly eating this while packing our equipment to go, on the way home, the next day, and the day after.

Santa Monica Engagement Session | Agata and Kevin | Los Angeles Wedding Photographer

I seem to meet more and more couples now who tell me that they met through an online dating site. Agata and Kevin, on the other hand, met online via…get this- a photo group on Flickr, and it was the beginning of something much more.

If you’re wondering how in the world we ended up at a waterfall, let’s just say that Kevin and Agata are definitely outdoorsy, fit to say the least, and not at all scared of a “little” hike. (They did Half Dome.) They like rocks and water, so with all gear tucked away into bags, we hiked, scaled, and climbed our way in to this:

After we hit the destination, we scurried on back out quickly to catch the remaining light left of the day.

Timon and I both really like this one. I love grassy knolls!

I love how they were able to be themselves in front of the camera, even though they’re the ones usually behind the camera snapping away.

This chopper came to our rescue once we realized we stayed out too late in the trails. J/K… it was just cool how it flew so close to us and Kevin and Agata were enthralled so we snapped some shots.
