Old Town Pasadena Engagement Session | Beth and Ricky

When I met Beth and Ricky on the phone, the first thing that hit me was that they knew how perfect they were for each other. High school sweethearts. Constant companions. Culminating in a wedding that was not only a celebration of the future, but a celebration of every experience that brought them to this point. Beth told me that much of what she had become and experienced was because Ricky was always willing to try new things and to take risks. Ricky quickly pointed out how Beth keeps him sane and organized, and how difficult life would be without her. When we met for the first time on the day of their shoot, I saw something else there- a passion that could only be cultivated by experiencing life together with your best friend.

We started on a sunny, hot day in south Pasadena, then finished our day off in the cool twilight of beautiful Pasadena City Hall. I hope you love these images as much as I enjoy telling their story. Below are a few favs, with much more in the slideshow below! ~Timon

San Gabriel Hilton has an elegant rooftop that just seems to transcend the city, almost like a secret garden hidden in an urban city, complete with a gazebo, perfectly placed flowers everywhere, and a cute water feature. It was a great fit for Mona and Phil and their April 2011 wedding. The bright sunlight and intense heat of the LA sun overhead beating down on us was overshadowed by the elegance and sophistication of their day, bound together by an ever-present passion that these two share. The day started at The Langham Hotel in Pasadena, as we captured the few quiet moments before Mona and Phil were brought together. White Blossom Events was a dream to work with. Their demeanor was calming, caring, and professional, and so helpful and we can not begin to summarize how much we loved them.

To start off, here are a few shots from the Hilton.

I just wanted to point out the Michael Jordan here. I just love the enthusiasm. :)
The men were no let down when it came their turn. This is our favorite garter catch reaction to date!Lastly, there are so many party pictures, but unfortunately there’s only enough space to embarrass a few people here.

USC Engagement Session | Mona and Phil

Mona and Phil’s e-session was taken at the beautiful campus, USC! Although I’m a Bruin myself, I would tag along to shoot there again anytime. :)

Timon loved this shot. I do too…so sweet, with the water feature and all. (Maybe it’s the kid in me…but now I can’t stop wondering… has anyone ever dropped their backpack in the water before? After all these years someone must have..!?)

The next 3 photos were the last 3 photos of the day and a bit of an experiment. I’m curious…out of pure preference, which one do you like best? Mona and Phil’s favorite was the first one… and also the last one. Mine was the 2nd one, for reasons of the graphic designer in me.

Camarillo Wedding Photographer | Spanish Hills Country Club Wedding | Paige and Jeremy

We had the privilege of photographing Paige and Jeremy’s wedding at the Spanish Hills Country Club back in January, which is located in Camarillo, Ca. Just days before the wedding, we were experiencing rain throughout the week, but as soon as it was showtime, the weather once again dried up and warmed up! We were so excited to blog and show them their wedding photos, first via their slideshow…

I had a great time assisting Timon with this wedding, and loved getting to know Paige and Jeremy. This was the first time I teared up a little (but hiding it!) while photographing a wedding, as I heard testimonies about their lives from family during the ceremony toasts.

These men were a little silly. And pretty-somewhat cooperative. They ended up making Jeremy do a split in mid-air which did not make for a flattering pose. So we’re glad we still have this one.

After a “first look”, where Paige and Jeremy had a moment together before we started portraits, we did some wedding-day portraits:

Their cake & mini desserts were from a Long Beach Dessert Studio- Sweet and Saucy Shop, who also did Miley Cyrus’s 18th bday cake. I snagged a look at the cake they did and it’s pretty cool with the sparklers. But…look at these neat carrot cake pops! I wanted to try one pretty bad.

Paige’s sweet mom walked out in the freezing night cold air, to send us home with a few of these delicious treats:

First dance- I never cease to be impressed by a couples’ ability to actually really dance for their wedding’s first dance song.

Los Angeles Family Portrait Session SLIDESHOW! | Allan + Sandi, Jakob- (9 months)

Here’s the slideshow to Allan, Sandi, and Jakob’s family session! It was so awesome shooting their brand new family, and so fun to photograph their first addition to the family, little one year old Jakob. As you’ll see, he was SUCH a happy baby boy! The cleverest thing they brought to the shoot was a stuffed Frankenstein that was still new to him and sang and danced the whole entire shoot. It totally worked.. I’m on the hunt for a stuffed, singing monster now. But even without the Frankie, Jakob was so easy to shoot because he’s naturally a social baby. He was pretty much content, happy, and engaged the whole shoot! Throw in a smile-toy along with an already smiley baby… you get loads of happy baby and family pictures. I was hooked and can’t wait to do it again. ;) As always, I love seeing all the different myriads of expressions they throw at us when they’re merely even a year old. Enjoy this precious little slideshow:
