Kate and Chad’s Wedding~ Tucson, Arizona

We were so thankful that somehow the weather in Arizona was nowhere near how hot it normally is, especially in June. People said 120 degrees would be typical, and 110 is considered cool! Did you know that’s hot enough to dry your own tomatoes? I thanked God that we didn’t have to sweat the heat.  It also helped greatly that Kate and Chad started the ceremony later in the day.

But even though we escaped the Arizona heat, there was no escaping the Arizona cacti (which didn’t even look like cacti to us but instead like low bushes… aren’t all cacti three-pronged? And why won’t spell-check just let me write cactuses!) It was obvious we didn’t know a cactus from a bush and that we were not from Arizona. As soon as the first dance was over, we both stood there under a table lamp with Kate’s aunt’s tweezer set picking out cactus needles from our arms and pants.

Does it get worse than needles in our pants? A needle in Timon’s thumb. He uses it to press the back-focus button on his camera. He actually used the thumb anyway for the first dance. OUCH! How brave : ) We were so glad for the tweezers!! Cactus needles and weather worries aside, in all seriousness, we thoroughly enjoyed Kate and Chad’s special day:
